  1. Double-blinded study of 86 osteoarthritis patients
  2. 51 men & 35 women; ages 37-77
  3. 60 day treatment period
  4. CM Complex Half (6 CMC capsules/day) vs. Placebo Half (6 Vegetable Oil capsules/day)
  5. A total of 137 affected joints in this population
  6. --98 had painful swelling
  7. --70 had stiffness associated with degrees of deformity
  8. --18 included some soft tissue involvement

    Method Details for Presentation


  1. Range of Motion (Physician Assessment)– Participants lay face down & leg flexed to determine maximum angle of flexion using goniometers

  2. Data Presented on Walking & Knee Bending - based in Index assessments from answers to questionnaires completed at each visit (ie., Lequesne Function Indices)


    Study Results


  1. The vast majority of individuals receiving the CM complex noted decreases in pain &/or increases in joint utilization, resulting in higher levels of physical activity

  2. 97 % of the treated group noted improvements - (based on all indicators evaluated in study)
